Yz'Connect paid tribute to Catherine Oger, co-founder of the association, with a beautiful retrospective exhibition of her drawings and engravings. Here are some pictures of the opening and engraving workshop. The workshop and show will continue next weekend at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in the exhibition space at Yzeures Creatif, 9 Place du 11 Novembre, 37290 Yzeures sur Creuse.
Sylvieau
Sylvieau has brought her wonderful sketch studies to the exhibition space for the month of August. She finds her inspiration in interpreting the movements and curves of live models and she works in watercolour, oil and acrylic. Her use of form and color reveals a painterly freedom of movement. Her attempts to capture the essence of movement have created a collection that successfully transcends body shape and allows the viewer to interpret movements in their own imagination.
In addition to the exhibit, Sylvieau also led a day-long workshop where she taught techniques for drawing the human face.
The exhibition will continue until August 27, 2022. Hours are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Yzeures Créatif
The opening at Yzeures Créatif for "Humanoid" an interpretation of the human form in the abstract took place on July 1, 2022. The artist Martin Looker, originally from Yorkshire and now based in Touraine, is a self-taught abstract sculptor.

His sculptures are constructed from recycled materials and reflect a fascination with the texture, color and patina of age-worn materials.
The exhibition continues until July 30. The opening hours of the gallery are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Yzeures Créatif
The second opening of the season at Yzeures Créatif took place on June 3 and presented the watercolors and oils of Larysa Bulanchykava and Pascal Planchard. In these paintings the artists favor composition, treating objects in a simple way with poetry and clarity. The goal is to create an emotion for the viewer by accentuating certain details, and highlighting a light or a shadow. The exhibition continues until June 29th. The opening hours of the gallery are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
During the summer, we will host 2 additional exhibitions with openings on the first Friday evening of each month.

Yzeures Créatif
The first vernissage of the season at Yzeures Créatif took place on May 6 and featured a wonderful Parisian painter, Florence Barian. In the presence of more than 50 people, Florence presented her oils, watercolors and graphite drawings under the theme “Woman we love you”. Florence has an ease with the pencil, it slides on its own, then comes the pleasure of mixing colors in oil or watercolor, and the magic happens.
As a child, she was already attracted by impressionism and the mastery of colors that she found in the Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay. Today her inspirations come during trips or walks or even simpler in books. She says, "The people we meet are so rich in their behavior, their look, their attitude, their elegance that there are countless ideas to paint."
The exhibition continues until May 29. The opening hours of the gallery are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. During the summer, Yzeures Créatif will host 3 other exhibitions with openings on the first Friday evening of each month.

The hard work is finished. The first exhibition “Our neighbors Unmasked” is scheduled for mid-September. More details will be coming soon!
This weekend, Yz’ Connecte organized an engraving workshop on the theme "Yzeures, mon village". Catherine Oger Romer demonstrated printmaking techniques and helped participants make their impressions. The aim was to create images of our village past, present and future and to encourage neighbors to make new connections. Here are some photos of the event.
The construction work started in mid-February and a lot was accomplished in the past month. The roof is nearly completed, we have the concrete poured for the floor of the gallery space. The support beams and joists are in place for the upstairs loft. And the water supply, drains and electric cables have been installed. We are now in an indefinite work stoppage due to the COVID-19 lockdown here in France. So here is a short video of the construction so far. One month of work condensed into a 4 minute time-lapse.
